Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces.
- Maintain restrooms by cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, replenishing supplies, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and stripping as needed.
- Handle commercial cleaning duties in various settings including offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs needed or safety hazards observed.
- Provide porter services as required, including moving furniture or equipment for events or maintenance activities.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is mandatory.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment is a plus.
- Experience in commercial cleaning environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of general maintenance tasks can be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
