Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and satisfaction
- Assist shoppers in locating products, answering questions, and offering product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell complementary products and promote current promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain attractive merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking efforts, ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and inviting
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, replenishing shelves, and participating in stock counts
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers, including bilingual candidates
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure smooth checkout processes
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including weekends or evenings
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or experience in a retail environment is advantageous but not mandatory
