Under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), the Therapist provides professional mental health care for children and youth in Family Foster Care (FFC) and Therapeutic Family Foster Care (TFFC). This position involves conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering treatments to address personal, behavioral, or family issues. The Therapist adopts a strength-based approach to youth and family development, ensuring the integration of trauma-informed practices when working with the foster care population.

- Location: 7 West Burnside Avenue, 2nd Floor, Bronx, New York 10453
- Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt (Position requires staff to be onsite. Hybrid schedules are based on program needs and leadership discretion. Flexible with some evenings)
- Salary Range $61,000 - $72,000 Based on relevant post-graduate experience with NYS LMSW
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and youth in the Family Foster Care and Therapeutic Family Foster Care Department, using evidence-based clinical interventions to address trauma and complex needs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external mental health providers for youth receiving services outside of the organization to ensure consistent treatment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to contribute to case planning and update staff on youth's treatment progress.
- Maintain accurate client records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Offer service recommendations to support diagnostic impressions and case conceptualization.
- Implement crisis interventions and clinical support to aid the treatment team in managing crises with youth.
- Conduct community outreach to engage youth in services and provide crisis de-escalation support.
- Promote a trauma-sensitive culture by applying trauma-informed practices in the program.
- Respond promptly to behavioral issues, uphold safety standards, and facilitate problem-solving dialogue.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned.
- New York State LMSW required; LCSW eligibility or preference.
- Master's Degree in Social Work is a must.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is desirable.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and effective communication.
- At least two years of experience in clinical assessment and individual or family therapy.
- Knowledge or familiarity with trauma-based interventions is preferred.
- Familiarity with DSM-5 and diagnostic criteria.
- Commitment to working from a strength-based, youth and family development, and trauma-informed perspective.
- Willingness to work some evenings until 7 pm.
