What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maternity Leave Substitute 3rd Grade Teacher position at Good Shepherd School?
Good Shepherd School is in need of a grade 3 teacher commencing on January 5th .
This position will run from January through March.
Responsibilities:
~Develop and teach highly engaging, academically rigorous curriculum and lessons, aligned with Good Shepherd School’s standards and progressive pedagogical philosophy aligned with the Common Core.
~Establish and uphold classroom expectations that support students in developing their Catholic identity, responsible autonomy, and ownership over learning.
~Analyze assessment data and use it to inform and differentiate your instruction.
~Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards.
~Maintain relationships with families, including phone calls and/or conferences.
~Contribute to the school community by attending school events.
Qualifications:
~Minimum of two years’ full-time classroom teaching experience preferred, preferably in grades PreK-5.
~Ability to create a class environment in which students feel safe, supported and challenged to engage deeply in meaningful work.
~A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and promoting a Catholic identity.
~New York State teaching certification preferred.

Bachelor's
License/Certification:
CPR Certification (Preferred)
Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
$200 for 40 school days, followed by salary based on collective bargaining agreement according to degree and experience.
Pay: $200.00 per day
