What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafeteria Dietary Aide position at Good Shepherd Nursing Home?
Summary of the Position:
Performs a variety of dietary duties pertaining to the daily operation of preparing, servicing, and cleaning the employee cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock and prepare the steam table and cooler with the current day’s lunch meals; complete this task again for the dinner meals during the appropriate meal times.
- Records all food temperatures.
- Waits on all employees going through the cafeteria line; working the cash register.
- Perform duties directed by the Dietary Manager.
- Adheres to all sanitation and health standards at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, L.C.
- Performs all duties pertaining to closing the employee cafeteria down at the end of night ie: sweeping, mopping, wiping down all surfaces.
- Dresses in a clean manner and uses proper hygiene
Experience/Education
High school graduate, or equivalence of a G.E.D.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to clearly understand how to operate a cash register and run final reports. Prolonged standing is around 75% of the workday. Must be able to lift around 25-50lbs.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work under conditions of sudden changes in temperature when entering freezer/refrigerator areas in the main kitchen. Subject to burns from hot foods/ utensils, steam. Subject to cuts from knives and the possibility of injury from falls on slippery floors.
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
