We are looking for a part time activities assistant who will enjoy enriching our residents lives.
Activities Assistant Requirements:
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education)
Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior
Escort patients to and from activities
Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
High school diploma and certain certifications may be required.
More education or experience with nursing, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred.
Job training and first-aid and CPR training may be necessary and will be provided.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Have a current driver’s license with no holds and great driving skills.
Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift at least 50lbs., or meet other physical demands. Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
Excellent resource management, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
Flexibility to work dayshifts, some evenings, every other weekend and some holidays.
Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
Eager to work as scheduled, dependable, enthusiastic, great sense of humor, easy going, able to speak in large groups on the spot, able to do activities, set up for activities and clean up.'
