Pharmacist -- West Village Pharmacy

West Village Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, patient-focused pharmacist to join our community pharmacy team. We serve patients and families who value personal attention, trusted relationships, and consistent care.

The pharmacist will support safe and accurate dispensing, counsel patients, coordinate with prescribers, and help manage daily pharmacy operations. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and treats patients and colleagues with respect.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription dispensing and patient safety

• Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and dosing concerns.
• Complete final verification before medications are dispensed.
• Resolve clinical questions with prescribers and document interventions.
• Maintain accurate prescription records and follow pharmacy policies and applicable requirements.

Patient care and service

• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, storage, and adherence.
• Help patients address refill needs, medication access issues, and insurance barriers.
• Coordinate medication synchronization, refill follow-up, and delivery needs.
• Provide clinical services appropriate to the pharmacist’s credentials and the pharmacy’s available programs.

Daily workflow and team oversight

• Work with the Pharmacist-in-Charge to prioritize prescriptions, patient requests, and unresolved issues.
• Direct and support technicians, cashiers, and delivery staff within their assigned responsibilities.
• Ensure prescriptions requiring pharmacist review are escalated promptly.
• Provide clear handoffs for pending prescriptions, clinical concerns, and follow-up tasks.
• Support staff training and reinforce patient privacy, accuracy, and service standards.

Inventory and quality

• Monitor medication storage, expiration dates, recalls, and inventory needs.
• Support controlled-substance accountability and required documentation.
• Report medication errors, near misses, and operational concerns promptly.
• Participate in audits and help improve pharmacy workflows.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license in good standing.
• Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and patient counseling skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a community pharmacy.
• Professional communication and a dependable, collaborative approach.

Preferred: Independent retail pharmacy experience, familiarity with RX30, and experience with medication synchronization, adherence programs, and delivery coordination.
