Major Responsibilities
- Coordinates the planning and provision of Soul Care services for patient/families to positively augment their visit with a focus on spiritual well-being.
- Records significant elements of pastoral encounters and assures that EPIC documentation is timely and integrated into the patient’s plan of care.
- Reports both to Soul Care Manager AND during evenings, weekends, holidays and manager paid time off, ALSO to the Nursing Supervisor as scheduled and needed.
- In the event of a critical incident, assists department manager and/or Resilience Education and Peer Support (REPS) Lead in addressing employee secondary trauma.
- Attends four (4) hours / monthly professional chaplain training.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Written endorsement of the board of elders/session/council of a local congregation where applicant is a member. (Applicant must be in good standing with home congregation and/or supervising denominational judicatory)
- Maintains relationships characterized by mutual support, open communication, trust and respect.
- Able to help patients, family and staff reflect on their experiences from a theological or faith perspective without imposing any personal bias.
- Able to assess and respond sensitively to cultural and religious diversity. Computer Literacy commensurate with use of EPIC, electronic medical record for charting patient/family interventions.
- Flexibility with on-call scheduling to meet department needs including overnight, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to travel to receive specialized training appropriate to "best practice" of Soul Care.
- Past training in the areas of grief counseling, hospice volunteering, Critical Incident Stress Management and Stephen’s Ministry should be noted within the application.
Salary : $27 - $45
