The Skilled Rehab team at Good Samaritan Algona and Forest City seeks to hire a Therapy Aide to join our team. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, M-F (weekdays/weekends/holidays can be flexible), covering the Skilled Nursing Facilities. Currently, we treat the following conditions: orthopedic, weakness, balance/falls/gait, cervical/back pain, general deconditioning, and other various conditions. New grads are welcomed! We are transitioning these locations to an in-house therapy model from contract use. We are looking to hire a candidate who can complement our team. **Job Summary**
Supports Physical and Occupational therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient equipment, and materials, and performs procedures as directed by and under the supervision of a physical therapist, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapist, or occupational therapy assistant in accordance with applicable state practice acts. Assist the licensed therapist is providing services, the therapy aide may assists in the delivery of therapy services for patients/residents/clients suffering from illness, injury, or developmental impairments under supervision of and as directed by the licensed Therapist as appropriate. Prepares equipment and materials for treatment; assists patients/residents/clients' and provides encouragement to make sure that they correctly perform treatments. As needed, performs other related duties as requested that serve to support the operations of the therapy department, such as cleaning, clerical duties, assisting patients with care needs, and assisting patients to/from the therapy department.
**Qualifications**
High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 6 months of employment.
When applicable, current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers.
