Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate
- Provide compassionate care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions
- Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sanitation practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care within our long term care facility
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring hospice or palliative care
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting with equipment like Hoyer lifts and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication skills coupled with a caring attitude that emphasizes patient dignity and comfort
