POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- High diploma or GED preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing.
- Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.
- Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
- Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.
Compensation Range:
$17.92- $26.63This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
