What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant position at GOOD SAMARITAN LIVING CENTER?
Hiring for day and night shifts:
- Shift times: 6am-6pm ; 6pm-6-am
- 2-3-2 shift pattern, on schedule every other weekend
Duties
- Provide primary care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Perform catheter care
- Assist with the use of durable medical equipment (DME)
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Document patient information accurately and timely
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare setting preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of medication administration practices
- Proficient in catheter care techniques
Qualifications
- Valid LOUISIANA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Prior experience working with geriatric patients or in long-term care facilities is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS/CPR).
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper techniques; manual handling skills are essential.
- Strong caregiver communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient service.
Pay: $12.50 - $16.50 per hour
