Part time evening CIT (Counselor in Training)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-time Evening Counselor in Training (CIT) to join our dynamic counseling team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting individuals with substance use disorders. As a CIT, you will be providing compassionate care, implementing behavior management strategies, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment during evening hours (5pm-9pm). CIT certification is required.

Responsibilities:

· Provide direct care to clients and may serve as primary counselor to specified caseload under clinical supervision;

· Serve as a resource person for the other professionals and paraprofessionals in their specific area of expertise;

· Attend and participate in individual care conferences, treatment planning activities and discharge planning;

· Function as the client’s advocate in all treatment decisions affecting the client; and

· Prepare and enter progress notes in the EHR within 24 hours of service delivery;

· Ensure that clients sign all applicable documents at intake and thereafter, as needed;

· Ensure that all paperwork is completed and signed where appropriate, (i.e. assessment, treatment plan, demographic packet, etc.);

· Update treatment plans at least every 30 days, have client sign the treatment plan, and provide the client with a copy of the treatment plan;

· Maintain client charts (all required documents are present and signed by the appropriate persons); and

· Ensure that clients sign in for each session they attend.

Experience

• Prior experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and individuals in recovery.
• Background in addiction counseling is required.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation best practices is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with substance use disorders.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential for success in this role.
