What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospitality Operations Associate position at good neighbor?
Guesthouse by good neighbor is an independent boutique hotel located above our Hampden coffee shop. The Hospitality Operations Associate is the primary point of contact at the Front Desk who will ensure the hotel is operating smoothly during the weekends. They provide warm hospitality, address guest needs, maintain daily operations and support business objectives.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Prepare rooms for guests pre-arrival
- Field guest phone calls and emails
- Introduce guests and visitors to the guesthouse by good neighbor brand
Daily operations
- Assist in managing housekeeping
- Manage inventory and ordering of daily supplies
- Track maintenance issues for management to address
- Source vendor options
Job Requirements
- Consistent weekend availability
- Able to lift up to 30lbs ex: carrying packages, accessing storage bins.
- Excellent time management
- Comfortable working independently in a small business startup environment
- Comfortable maintaining open communication with management
- Comfortable navigating software systems for reservations
- Bonus: experience managing up, previous hospitality/retail experience
Compensation
- During your employment, you will be paid $19 per hour.
- Your compensation will be paid in regular bi-weekly installments by direct deposit, in accordance with our regular payroll process, and is subject to applicable tax and other withholdings.
- Please note we schedule performance reviews on the following schedule: 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, annually.

- Sick & safe leave: After a 60 probationary period, you’ll earn 1 hour of Sick & safe leave for every 30 hours worked.
- Maximum accrual of 40 hours earned annually, with a max carry-over to the following year of 24 hours (for example, if you accrued 40 hours this year 2025 & didn’t use any, 24 of those hours could transfer over to next year, capped at 64 hours total accrual in 2026).
At-Will Employment: your employment with good neighbor is “at will” and thus you or good neighbor may terminate our employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice. good neighbor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change your compensation and/or employee benefits at any time on a prospective basis.
Additional Agreements: As a condition of your employment you agree to execute any additional agreements required by good neighbor at the start of your employment. This includes any agreements that relate to your confidentiality or intellectual property assignment obligations to good neighbor. You further agree that all times during your employment (and afterwards as applicable), you will be bound by, and will fully comply with, these additional agreements.
