About the Role:

The Care Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the quality of care provided to clients within a healthcare or social care setting. This position is responsible for managing care teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes client well-being and dignity. The Care Supervisor will coordinate care plans, monitor service delivery, and address any issues or concerns promptly to maintain high standards. They act as a liaison between clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and effective care outcomes. Ultimately, the role aims to lead and inspire care staff to deliver compassionate, person-centered care that meets both organizational goals and individual client needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A recognized qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a care setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of care standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by the service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in health and social care or related field.
  • Experience with electronic care management systems.
  • First Aid and Medication Administration certification.
  • Training in conflict resolution and staff development.
  • Knowledge of mental health and dementia care best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support care staff to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and organizational procedures.
  • Conduct regular staff training, performance appraisals, and provide mentorship to promote professional development.
  • Manage scheduling and resource allocation to optimize team efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly to client or family concerns, resolving issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to care activities, incidents, and regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate effective communication between clients, families, care teams, and external agencies.

The Care Supervisor utilizes strong leadership and interpersonal skills daily to motivate and guide care teams, ensuring that each client receives personalized and respectful care. Effective communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and resolve concerns.
