Case Manager
The Case Manager in Accident & Injury law supports the legal team by managing case files, coordinating communications, organizing documents, and maintaining case timelines. This role involves client communication, evidence gathering, and assisting with insurance claims while excluding legal research, document preparation, trial prep, and billing. The Case Manager ensures smooth case progression by staying organized and maintaining clear communication between clients, legal teams, and other professionals.
- Manage case files, ensuring proper organization and up-to-date records.
- Maintain and update case management systems to ensure all information is current and accurate.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts to schedule meetings, depositions, or other events related to the case.
- Serve as the main point of contact between clients and attorneys, ensuring clear communication.
- Ensure case deadlines and timelines are met, and track important dates (e.g., hearings, depositions, meetings).
- Assist attorneys in preparing for meetings and conferences with clients, witnesses, and experts.
- Ensure compliance with internal case management protocols and best practices.
- Monitor the status of ongoing cases and provide regular updates to attorneys and clients.
- Assist in gathering information from clients, opposing counsel, and third parties to ensure that case files are complete.
- Prepare and distribute case-related correspondence as needed.
- Handle general administrative tasks related to case management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in both English and Spanish.
- Experience working in a law firm or legal setting, with a strong background in PI.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in case management software and general office applications (e.g., Google Suite).
- Familiarity with the litigation process and general legal terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, attorneys, and other staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with specific areas of law (e.g., personal injury, family law, criminal law).
- Knowledge of case management software and legal databases.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal support role or as a Case Manager in a law firm.
- Certification or training in case management or paralegal work is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to sit at a desk for long periods.
- Occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 15 lbs.
- Primarily works in a law office environment with standard office hours. (Hybrid)
- Some overtime may be required to meet urgent deadlines or ensure case progress.
- Occasional travel to medical facilities, accident sites, or client meetings may be necessary.
