What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Tech I position at Good Foods Group, LLC?
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine production line checks at regular intervals to ensure in-process and finished goods specifications are met
- Conduct basic chemical analyses of products (e.g., pH, viscosity, salt content) using laboratory equipment
- Perform basic sensory analysis of in-process products
- Accurately and legibly complete quality and food safety documentation
- Conduct Hazard Analysis / Critical Control Point (CCP)/ Preventive Control (PC) verifications
- Verify label accuracy in accordance with established programs and procedures
- Identify, isolate, and report process deviations or non-conformances
- Monitor and support compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and prerequisite programs
- Conduct calibration verification of laboratory and production equipment
- Perform internal auditing procedures
- Utilize basic problem‑solving techniques within established company processes
- Prepare and present basic quality data to cross‑functional teams as needed
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation of laboratory, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all company policies, rules, regulations and safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Hazard Analysis / Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification preferred, but not required
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to take control of situations and follow them through to a successful result.
- No travel required
- Work performed in a food manufacturing environment approximately 85% of the time
- Exposure to wet conditions and temperatures ranging from approximately 38°F to 40°F
- Moderate to high noise levels due to operating machinery
- Exposure to moving equipment and mechanical parts
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with food safety and cGMP requirements
- Ability to communicate information accurately
- Ability to detect and discern sounds necessary for workplace communication and safety
- Ability to remain in stationary positions for extended periods
- Ability to frequently move throughout the production and laboratory environment
- Ability to visually inspect products and documentation, including close vision and color differentiation
- Ability to frequently operate a computer and standard office and laboratory equipment
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or adjusted schedules as business needs require
