Position Overview
The Dental Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of dental insurance processing, including verification, claims submission, follow-up, and patient communication regarding benefits and coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments
- Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve claim denials
- Communicate with patients regarding insurance benefits, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs
- Coordinate with front desk and clinical team to ensure accurate billing
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and coding changes
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office required (1–2 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans (PPO)
- Familiarity with dental software (Open Dental)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with insurance verification and claims appeals
- Understanding of CDT coding and dental terminology
- Bilingual (optional, but a plus)
