Floral and Gifts Manager

Our Fairfax store is seeking a Full Time Floral Manager to help lead our Floral and Gifts department.

The Floral and Gifts department adds a beautiful touch to the store with sustainably grown flowers and responsibly crafted gifts. We are seeking a leader with a deep knowledge of flowers and plants, merchandising and floral arranging experience, and a leadership style that is based on team building, teaching, supporting, and role-modeling. Also required is the ability to manage the finances of the department, including understanding pricing and margins, participating in buying, and maintaining accurate inventories.

• Lead a team in performance, customer service, and product knowledge
• Train, inspire and hold accountable department staff in fulfilling our customer service vision and expectations. Create atmosphere of impeccable customer service among staff
• Train and maintain department procedures, skills, and operations
• Oversight of merchandising, inventory, and backroom systems
• Fulfillment of Safety Program and cultivating a strong Safety Culture
• Handle all personnel development and administration for the department
• Know and communicate GE’s floral, plant, and gift standards

• Basic computer skills to place orders, utilize database, and create forms
• Strong floral and plant knowledge
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or manager experience
• Ability to be on feet all day and efficiently operate all department equipment and tools
• Ability to lift, carry or transport up to 40 pounds frequently, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to motivate others to work as a positive team
• Ability to contribute to creating a positive work environment in your conduct and interaction with coworkers and managers
• Ability to take direction gracefully
