Job Purpose:

• The Cafe Cashier at GOOD EARTH MARKETS is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, ensuring a pleasant and efficient transaction experience, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked cafe environment. This role requires a friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to uphold health and safety standards while supporting the overall operations of the cafe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and acknowledge each customer as they approach the cafe, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.

• Be available to assist customers and provide excellent customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns.

• Perform cashiering responsibilities by ringing up customers with friendliness and efficiency.

• Gain comprehensive menu knowledge and use it to assist customers in making informed choices.

• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the cafe, adhering to all required health safety codes and practices. Maintain fresh ingredients and ensure the cafe is fully stocked to meet menu demands at all times.

• Follow recipes and designated kitchen practices to ensure product consistency and quality.

• Stand for extended periods and complete tasks that require repetitive motions, lifting, and bending.

• Perform various duties throughout the cafe as assigned or needed, demonstrating a great attitude and willingness to learn.

Availability and Compensation:

• Part Time and Full Time positions available, Sunday through Saturday availability during cafe working hours, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

• $16 - $18/hr tips (avg. $3/hr), DOE

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a retail, restaurant, or customer service role is preferred but not required. 

• Experience handling cash transactions and using a cash register is a bonus.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to ensure the cleanliness/sanitation of the cafe while also participating in cashiering responsibilities.

• Knowledge of health safety codes and practices.

• Ability to maintain fresh ingredients and ensure the café is fully stocked

• Capability to follow recipes and designated kitchen practices for product consistency.

• Strong menu knowledge to assist customers effectively.

• Ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks requiring repetitive motions, lifting, and bending.

• Willingness to perform various duties throughout the cafe as needed.

• Great attitude with a willingness to learn and accept feedback.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Positive, energetic, self-motivated, reliable, and punctual demeanor.

Salary : $16 - $18
