The Inventory Control Tech II provides intermediate-level support and guidance to the inventory team. This role bridges daily execution with leadership by mentoring junior staff, assisting with vendor coordination, and supporting warehouse organization. The Inventory Control Tech II is expected to operate independently with minimal supervision and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Receive and unload items from delivery trucks in a timely and organized manner.
- Document received items using inventory platforms such as Monday Boards.
- Store finished goods and packaging material in a clean, orderly fashion.
- Deliver materials to workstations and storage points both physically and via digital systems.
- Pull and stage packaging material for Resupply Requests or Jobs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
- Relocate inventory and assist with cleanups and general warehouse maintenance.
- Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts and pallet jacks (manual/electric).
- Maintain transaction rigor to minimize inventory discrepancies (target: ≤1 error/day).
- Adhere to compliance procedures as required by state regulations.
- Follow all SOPs, operational guidelines, and verbal directives.
- Maintain professionalism and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Seek guidance from senior team members and escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Guide and mentor junior team members in task execution and warehouse best practices.
- Train new inventory staff and serve as a resource for troubleshooting.
- Act as liaison during on-site supplier visits, assisting with deliveries and pickups.
- Assist in leading day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Be eligible and maintain qualifications to be insured as a driver for company vehicles.
- Conduct local deliveries and pickups using company-owned box trucks or freightliners.
- Help enforce safety procedures, inventory handling policies, and transaction integrity standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate suggestions to the Inventory Manager.
- Maintain a professional demeanor, modeling company values and expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
- Ability to work independently and maintain focus.
- Comfortable using and learning new software tools.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong ethics, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Reliable transportation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other inventory software platforms (e.g., Monday Boards).
- Forklift operation (certification preferred).
- Skilled in use of pallet jacks (standard and electric).
- Strong computer skills and basic math skills.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Eligible to be insured as a driver for company vehicles (box truck/freightliner).
- Experience guiding or leading small teams or training coworkers.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Comfortable interacting professionally with external vendors and suppliers.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of inventory experience
- Experience using data entry software (i.e., Excel)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (hot, humid, low light).
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Must wear personal protective gear as required.
- Ability to operate and drive box trucks or similar delivery vehicles.
- Must meet physical requirements to safely load and unload deliveries.
