What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC Service Technician position at Good Call?
HVAC Service Technician: No On-Call. No Weekends. Top Pay in the Market.
Company: Good Call
Location: Thibodaux, LA & Surrounding Parishes
Role: Experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician
The Hook: Are You Tired of the Grind?
Let’s cut to the chase: The HVAC industry has a burnout problem, and it starts with the endless on-call rotation.
If you’re a top-tier technician, you already know the drill. It’s your phone ringing at 10 PM on a Friday. It’s giving up your Saturdays to run emergency calls. It’s missing out on your family's weekend plans because your company demands you be available 24/7.
That stops here.
We built Good Call because we believe the people actually doing the work deserve better. We are a disruptive, locally led, residential service brand backed by a 60-year family legacy in Southeast Louisiana. We believe in ongoing training, an employee-first company, and keeping a tight service radius so you don't spend all your time driving over an hour to a service job.
The "Good Call" Promise (Why We Are Different):
- Highest Pay in the Market. If you are elite, you should be paid like it. We respect the trades, and our compensation reflects that. Period.
- A Culture of Trust: We don't send you to homes just to tell people they need a $15,000 system or nothing. We focus on ethical homeowner education and relationship building. You get to be a trusted advisor and the hero of the day, not just a high-pressure salesperson.
- Dispatch from Home: You get a fully upfitted, late-model Sprinter van that you take home every night. (Plus a company fuel card, obviously).
- Real Growth: This isn’t a stepping stone; it’s a destination. With ongoing training and leadership that actually knows the trade (our leadership team has run multi-million dollar shops), we are building a career path, not just a job.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for the pros. The veterans. The technicians who are tired of carrying the weight for the guys who don't know what they are doing.
- You have serious hands-on residential HVAC service experience.
- You know how to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix complex systems.
- You understand that the job isn't just turning wrenches—it's educating homeowners so they feel confident they made a Good Call.
- You take pride in your work, keep your van clean, and show up ready to dominate your day.
- EPA Universal Certification is required.
- Bonus points if you know your way around ServiceTitan.
The Daily Mission:
You’ll run high-probability, age-qualified residential calls. We don’t run you ragged on low-value warranty calls during peak season. You’ll use our presentation tools to offer homeowners clear choices—Repair, Restore, or Replace. You’ll secure the trust of the homeowner, make the fix, and build relationships that last for decades.
The Benefits Package:
- Market-leading compensation (Top tier pay). Hourly plus efficiency pay.
- Health insurance.
- 401(k) with company match.
- Take-home company Sprinter van & fuel card (Fully stocked).
- Company uniforms provided.
- Company-provided iPad.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid holidays – because rest actually matters.
- Clear paths for advancement in a rapidly scaling company.
Ready to Finally Be Respected?

The old way of doing things is burning people out. We are building Good Call. This is a startup, so expect to help lay the foundation, adapt quickly as we grow, and have a real voice in how we operate.
