Purpose of Position:
Coordinate installation activities for projects and tools, coordinating resolution of nonconforming product and design changes, assign tasks to installation team and installation contractors and/or union trades, coordinate completion of installation, interface with internal and external customers, work within budgets, and report to budgets. Maintain job site specific inventories and documentation. Facilitate client/management meetings as required. Provide weekly/regular project status updates as may be required. The Supervisor may also support union trades with guidance and information when our customer requires union trades to do the work.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Handles assigning work orders and project work relating to modification, fabrication, and installation of equipment.
- Assign tasks to installation personnel, union plant, and contract workers.
- Track completion of installation, including timing and budgets, and report to budgets
- Follow other directions set by field service manager and manufacturing manager.
- Communicate with internal and external customers.
- Follow all GPS processes and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and enforce site safety rules and regulations to ensure site safety practices to avoid any hazards and accidents.
- Report the labor hours in the time management system for employees and contractors.
- Track inventory supplies and order materials as needed.
- Report project progress percentages on the project timeline.
- Monitor that tasks are being performed in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy.
- Coordinate break down activities for shipping.
- Load trucks with finished product.
- Perform duties according to customer and industry specifications and standards.
- Follow safety & environmental regulations and identify safety/environmental concerns.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly.
- Contribute to achieving department and company goals.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Read and interpret project documentation (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic prints, Bill of Materials, etc.)
- Able to determine assembly process from mechanical blueprints.
- Assign additional manufacturing related duties.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Possess good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Understands maintenance of all equipment, including breakdowns, preventive maintenance, networks and facility support.
- Timely response to emergency repairs, along with implementation, monitoring, and follow-up of preventative maintenance schedules for the facility and operating equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes (with rigging), and lifts
Qualified candidates possess:
- Minimum 5 years machine tool management experience.
- Basic understanding of control theory with PLCs and related hardware (cylinders, valves, and switches).
- Willing and able to work any shift, variable start times, overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Physical requirements (to include but not limited to):
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and can lift and move 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, or use man lifts.
- Ability to wear PPE (when necessary)
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work at either of our two locations in Pontiac or Oak Park at the shop as well as travel to customer facilities.
- Able to work in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
