Job Purpose

The clinical placement coordinator is responsible for conducting clinical placement operations and processes to include planning, developing, coordinating and maintaining student clinical placements of the graduate nursing practicum.

Essential Functions

90% - Clinical Placement/Liaison Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative to professional and service organizations and clinical facilities on matters related to student clinical placements, including recruitment of preceptors and maintenance of current affiliate relationships.
• Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with assigned health providers and the community for the purpose of further development and support of clinical affiliates.
• Assist with developing innovative partnerships with area health systems to meet shared goals.
• Coordinate student onboarding processes with healthcare organizations, ensuring students complete all site-specific compliance, credentialing, and other organization-specific requirements necessary for students to begin clinical rotations.
• Communicate regularly via email, phone, video conferencing, and/or in person with internal and external constituents throughout the semester to report on student placements, relationship management, etc.
• Utilize internal and external systems to manage student requests and clinical placements in accordance with all deadlines.
• Handle Ad hoc and last minute student placement requests and changes by negotiating directly with the clinical agencies.

10% - Operations and Administrative

• Coordinate with internal leaders and colleagues to determine the numbers of student placements needed at each semester and type of experience needed.
• Respond to student concerns and operational difficulties related to student clinical placements.
• Prepare and submit annual and periodic surveys and reports for internal and external constituents as requested.
• Maintain and update clinical data and run queries and clinical education reports as needed.
• Participate in internal faculty and staff meetings as required.
• Meet regularly with and report to Director of Clinical Placement regarding graduate clinical placements.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by leadership.

Educational Requirement

Bachelor's Degree

Years Of Related Experience Requirement

3 years

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable state and federal standards, requirements, and regulations.

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of precepting within a graduate nursing education setting.

Demonstrated knowledge of MSN program objectives, course sequencing and individual course clinical requirements.

Experience working effectively in an environment subject to limited supervision requiring independent decision making.

Experience working collaboratively with a variety of diverse stakeholders with energy and enthusiasm.

Experience supporting students with diverse backgrounds.

The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position: $24.24 - 30.28 per hour

Pay Range

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 24.24

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 30.28

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 36.34
