We seek an exceptional candidate with deep expertise in building alliances across private equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies. This leader will be responsible for recruiting, enabling, and driving revenue partnerships with global and regional PE funds, delivering measurable business impact throughout the investment lifecycle.

You MUST be located in one of our hub locations (San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Austin, New York City Metro, Chicago) due to our hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Development: Identify, recruit, and cultivate long-term partnerships with leading private equity firms. Build strong relationships with fund-level operating partners, value creation teams, and investment sponsors.
  • Portfolio Engagement: Design and execute engagement strategies for portfolio companies, aligning Gong solutions to their revenue growth and transformation needs.
  • Co-Sell and Go-to-Market: Drive joint pipeline generation, account strategies, and co-selling motions with PE firms, their portfolio leadership, and our Gong sales teams; support due diligence, multi-company rollouts, and coordinated business development.
  • Solution Packaging & Enablement: Selectively develop tailored offerings and enablement programs for specific PE funds, ensuring efficient onboarding and adoption across assets.
  • Value Creation Advocacy: Consult with PE ops teams to align Gong deployments with value creation plans—supporting initiatives around revenue acceleration, analytics, and operational improvement.
  • Portfolio Scaling Support: Organize enablement toolkits and standardized playbooks for cross-portfolio deployment, training, and ongoing optimization.
  • Reporting and Impact Measurement: Deliver transparent results and impact analytics to PE partners; provide regular KPI, ROI, and best practice reports at the fund level.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay current on PE industry trends, investment theses, and portfolio company challenges to ensure Gong’s partnership strategy remains relevant and differentiated.
  • Thought Leadership & Representation: Represent Gong externally at PE conferences, portfolio forums, and ecosystem events as a trusted advisor and evangelist.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in partner management, alliances, or solution sales roles supporting enterprise SaaS, with at least 2 years directly focused on PE, VC, or strategic consulting ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated track record of success building, scaling, and optimizing multi-stakeholder relationships with PE firms and their portfolio companies.
  • Deep understanding of PE value creation strategies, commercial diligence, and portfolio company operating structures.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth, organizational adoption, and measurable results across complex partnership networks.
  • Expertise in go-to-market, co-sell motions, deal acceleration, and stakeholder management at both executive and operational levels.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive engagement skills; able to lead joint business reviews, QBRs, and strategy discussions.
  • Strong analytical and program management ability, including experience launching enablement programs, reporting performance, and supporting multi-company rollouts.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and experience in business negotiation.
  • CRM and business intelligence/analytics knowledge with a strong general technical acumen.

The annual OTE for this position is $240,000 USD.

Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location-based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.
