Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor animals to maintain optimal health and comfort
- Clean enclosures, bedding, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or grooming procedures
- Handle animals safely during daily interactions, examinations, and procedures
- Observe animal behavior for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly
- Assist staff with animal handling, relocation, and welfare checks
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable
- Experience with animal husbandry is a plus
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when moving supplies or animals
- Outdoor work experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with visitors
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety protocols, and animal welfare standards
