OBJECTIVE

Assist Facilities Director in providing general maintenance of the Center, grounds, and vehicles, keeping them clean, safe, and pleasant in appearance.  Have basic knowledge of painting, plumbing, electricity, air-conditioning, carpentry, masonry, and mechanics in regard to refrigeration and automotive repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

1.                   Work in coordination with the Facilities Director to assure the day-to-day operation of the Center's structural and mechanical systems, and to maintain a clean, safe facility.

2.                   Keeps the facility hazard free.

3.                   Responds to work orders as assigned by Supervisor.

4.                   Fleet maintenance as requested and appropriate to skill level.

5.                   Promptly picks up and/or delivers supplies as requested.

6.                   Works cooperatively with contract janitorial service.

7.                   Works cooperatively with all Program Directors.

8.                   Ensure the building is unlocked or locked according to work schedule.

9.                   Opens and closes the building when Facilities Director is not available.

10.               Perform special duties and projects as assigned by the Facilities Director and/or the Executive Director.

11.               Flexible with work schedule, some evening hours may be required.

12.               May perform other duties and responsibilities when facilities Director is not available.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

 

AUTHORITY

This person shall have the authority to complete the above responsibilities subject to the verbal and/or written approval of the Facilities Director and/ or Executive Director.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Applicant shall possess a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, and mechanics in regard to building maintenance.  Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Applicant shall possess a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate.

A minimum of two years’ experience in maintenance operations is required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual a plus, but not required.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math and calculation skills.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand instructions and prioritize multiple tasks.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  1.                   A valid Arizona Drive License and a clear 39-month Arizona Motor Vehicle Report required.
  2.                   Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  3.       CPR, First Aid, Article 9, Abuse and Neglect and Prevention and Support Training. If you do not hold these certifications, Gompers will provide training.

Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. may be required.
