Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your primary focus will be to assist patients in their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain mobility and improve their quality of life.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide hands-on patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Conduct assessments and monitor patient progress throughout their rehabilitation process.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to promote recovery at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with medical standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans for patients across various settings, including acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients leaving skilled nursing facilities or hospitals.
Skills
- Proficient in trigger point therapy techniques and other physiotherapy modalities.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to rehabilitation practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in physical therapy settings.
- Experience working in inpatient environments as well as skilled nursing facilities and home health care.
- Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Experience in discharge planning processes for optimal patient outcomes.
- Knowledge of treatment approaches for various populations, including acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
