Account Manager
Job Summary and Mission
The Account Manager plays a key role within Benefits Team, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of client accounts by delivering exceptional service, ensuring policy accuracy, and identifying evolving coverage needs. Acting as the primary liaison between clients and insurance carriers, the Account Manager manages renewals, resolves service issues, and delivers tailored insurance solutions. Through a client-focused approach and strong attention to detail, this role supports retention and sustainable growth by ensuring every client feels informed, valued, and protected.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Account Support
- Actively manages client renewal process, aligning team strategy and collaborating with the benefit team.
- Assists in managing renewal negotiations with insurance carriers
- Manages RFP process for medical, Rx, dental, vision, life, DI, and voluntary benefits.
- Develops and maintains relationships with carriers and vendors
- Assists Account Manager/Executive in presenting the renewal proposal to the client, if needed.
- Processes carrier changes and new business submissions at open enrollment.
- Updates/documents renewal plan information into Benefit Point (CRM).
Success Measures
- 2-4 years of industry experience. Knowledge of commercial insurance and association plan structures required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive). Excel proficiency is required.
- Licensed WA Life Health Insurance license (preferred, can obtain after hire).
- Experience with account management platforms
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- High attention to detail and follow-through.
- A collaborative mindset with a positive, solution-driven approach.
