Senior Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial, industrial, municipal, and healthcare projects.
- Manage the Bid and Proposal (B&P) process, including:
- Preparing bids: Take-offs, cost estimating, technical scopes, and reviewing drawings/specifications.
- Submitting proposals: Assembling documentation, ensuring compliance, and delivering professional packages.
- Supporting bids: Participating in client meetings, presentations, and answering clarifying questions.
- Evaluate and track B&P costs to ensure investments in bidding align with project profitability.
- Review bid documents, contracts, and specifications for risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure estimates are accurate and achievable.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing.
- Mentor junior estimators and support team development.
- 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial, industrial, municipal, or healthcare projects.
- Expertise in managing bids and proposals for large-scale or government projects, including B&P cost considerations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction best practices.
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
