Data & Systems Development Intern (Analytics and Automation)

Location: This is an in-office internship based in Northbrook, IL. Only applicants who currently reside in the Chicagoland area or have established local housing should apply.

About The Role

As a Data & Systems Intern at Golf VX, you’ll help build and optimize the system that collects data from our venues and powers franchise business intelligence. This role is hands-on with data capture (Python), automation systems, and analytics (Power BI). You'll work closely with leadership to learn and scale core digital processes, ensuring we capture and visualize the data needed to make high-impact business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics & Reporting (Python, Azure, Power BI)

• Build and manage Power BI dashboards to track simulator usage, revenue KPIs, league growth, and more.
• Assist in the development and optimization of data pipelines, including working with large datasets.
• Work with cloud platforms like Azure for database management and system scaling.
• Support the collection, transformation, and visualization of business and marketing data.
  
  

Automation & No-Code Systems (Make.com, Zapier)

• Set up and refine automations across CRM, forms, lead capture, and operational systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between platforms like Make, Monday.com, and franchise systems.
• Write clear documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automation workflows.
  
  

Platform Support & Scaling

• Collaborate with leadership team to move digital infrastructure projects forward.
• Assist with internal QA and user testing on new system launches and updates.
• Help design workflows and feedback loops to improve franchise and venue system performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong interest in data analytics, automation, and systems architecture.
• Proficient in Python; comfortable with data sets and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Azure, or related tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to map digital workflows.
• Proactive, organized, and capable of working independently or within teams.
  
  

Preferred (not Required)

• Experience with Make.com, Zapier, or other no-code tools.
• Basic familiarity with CRM platforms like Monday.com or HubSpot.
• Knowledge of business and financial data points
• Golf experience or general interest is a plus.
