Who you are
We're looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team and play a central role in the financial operations of our multi-location business. This position is responsible for recording and reconciling weekly revenue from point-of-sale systems, maintaining key balance sheet schedules, processing accounts payable, and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in an operating business — particularly in golf, hospitality, or entertainment — and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and ownership matter.
What you'll do
Revenue
- Weekly revenue posting across all locations using point-of-sale reporting, including membership, event, and other site revenue
- Map and transfer POS data into QuickBooks Online, ensuring accuracy of revenue categories, taxes, discounts, and voids
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between POS reports and accounting records
- Maintain Deferred Revenue Schedule for Memberships and Events across sites
Cash
- Ensure timely entry and cash and credit card transactions across all sites
- Provide weekly cash and credit card deposit reconciliations
- Research and resolve transaction discrepancies as needed to maintain accurate financial reporting
Payroll
- Record bi-weekly payroll and monthly tip/commission entries in Quickbooks
- Maintain Payroll related Balance Sheet accounts (Accrued Payroll, Tips Payable, Accrued Commission)
Accounts Payable / Expense Management
- Record vendor bills with proper GL coding and set up approval workflow within bill.com. Sync approved transactions to Quickbooks Online
- Review Credit Card transaction coding for accuracy and sync approved transactions to Quickbooks Online
- Prepare weekly AP payment file for management review and payment processing
- Maintain Balance sheet accounts related to prepaid expense and accrued expense
- Maintain Fixed asset schedule including additions, depreciation, and disposal
What you’ll need
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in golf, hospitality, entertainment, or a related multi-location operating business
- Solid understanding of revenue accounting principles, including deferred revenue management
- Working knowledge of GAAP and the ability to prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules independently
- Experience supporting financial operations across multiple locations or business units
- Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-moving environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup formulas
Bonus Points
- Experience working as an accountant in an operating business or hospitality environment
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online or a comparable cloud-based accounting system
- Experience supporting or owning AP processes including 1099 compliance
- Exposure to POS systems such as Toast, Square, Lightspeed, or similar platforms
