Mechanic Apprentice: Full Time Job
Golf Carts Unlimited is looking for a small engine and/or automotive mechanic. Professional experience is preferred but not required.
Job duties include:
· Building and assembling golf carts and components according to requirements
· Inspecting carts and performing diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
· Troubleshooting and repairing broken carts
· Full service on both gas and electric golf carts
· Customer service- taking work orders, obtaining service approval from customers, explaining scope of work to customers, and explaining preventative maintenance to customers
· Basic computer functions- using computer to take work orders, log service performed, and look up service history
· Ability to stand, bend, or lay on floor under a cart for a long period of time
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Qualifications
Must have a valid driver's license PA with acceptable driving record.
Must have some knowledge and competency in each of the following: troubleshooting techniques, basic electrical theory, basic small gas engine theory.
Prefer one year of experience but not required.
Ability to work with fuel and other petroleum products
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks in the Shops including inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, repairing and maintaining the following: golf carts, med duty trucks, and company vehicles.
This hourly will work with direct supervision of Service Manager.
Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding all system failures on golf carts
Safely operate equipment for diagnosing and testing purposes
Accurately generate in a timely manner all repair work orders
Proactively communicate with Service Manager concerning equipment and job related projects
Maintain safe and organized work area
Perform cleanup at end of day or when job is completed, including cleaning tools and putting tools in proper storage
Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment
Sometimes required to work more than 40 hours per week and non traditional hours including occasionally Saturdays
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks in the Shops including inspecting, diagnosing, adjusting, repairing and maintaining the following: golf carts, med duty trucks, and company vehicles.
Essential Functions:
Basic knowledge of:
- Methods, materials, tools and equipment used in repairing and maintaining golf carts
- Computer skills.
- Ability to read schematics
Ability to:
- Operate tools and equipment used to repair equipment.
- Take and follow instructions.
- Ability to learn and follow Company policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work with fuel and other petroleum products.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb on and off equipment safely.
- Ability to work in shop or field environment and tolerate exposure to dust, welding fumes, exhaust fumes, cold temperatures, and noise.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
