Position Summary
The Outside Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in delivering a first-class golf experience at The Ford Field & River Club. This individual is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day outside golf operations while leading the outside services team with a strong emphasis on hospitality, professionalism, organization, and attention to detail.
This position is expected to uphold and elevate the service standards of a premier private club by creating a welcoming and seamless experience for all members and guests from arrival to departure. The position also offers opportunities for professional growth within the golf operation, including player development, golf instruction, and golf programming.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily setup and presentation of the golf operation, including cart staging, bag storage, and practice facility preparation.
- Supervise and lead the outside operations team to ensure all service standards are executed at the highest level.
- Ensure golf carts are cleaned, staged, and prepared each day to club standards.
- Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and overall presentation of the bag room, cart storage areas, and practice facilities.
- Coordinate the daily setup, maintenance, and closing procedures of the driving range and short game practice areas.
- Ensure all member and guest golf clubs are handled with care and cleaned before and after play.
- Monitor the tee sheet throughout the day to assist with pace of play, player flow, and operational efficiency.
- Provide a professional and hospitable arrival and departure experience for all members and guests.
- Train, mentor, and motivate outside operations staff while fostering a team-oriented culture focused on service excellence.
- Assist with tournament operations, member events, and club activities as needed.
- Assist in the setup, coordination, and execution of golf programming, including member events, junior golf, clinics, instructional programs, and player development initiatives.
- Opportunities will be available to assist with golf instruction, clinics, and player development programs based on experience and interest.
- Communicate effectively with the Golf Professional Staff and other club departments to ensure a seamless operation.
- Support the overall mission and standards of excellence established by The Ford Field & River Club.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong leadership abilities with a passion for hospitality and member service.
- Previous experience in golf operations or private club environment preferred.
- Interest in teaching, player development, and golf programming is encouraged.

- Professional appearance and demeanor required at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of golf operations, tournament preparation, practice facility management, and event programming preferred.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations.
- Valid driver’s license required for operation of golf carts and club vehicles.
