Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and creative Sales & Design Consultant to join our retail showroom team. This role is responsible for guiding customers through the selection of flooring products, offering design recommendations, and providing a seamless sales experience from consultation to project completion. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to close sales while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in the showroom, providing expert product and design guidance
- Listen to customer needs and recommend flooring solutions that fit their lifestyle, design preferences, and budget
- Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for projects
- Use design tools, product samples, and showroom displays to help customers visualize their choices
- Stay current on industry trends, new products, and installation techniques
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and designers
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage referrals and repeat business
- Collaborate with installers and project managers to ensure smooth project execution
- Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor
- Knowledge of flooring products, interior design principles, or willingness to learn quickly
- Ability to prepare accurate measurements and project estimates (training provided)
- Proficiency with computer skills, and Microsoft Office; design software experience a plus
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and organized
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including Saturdays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk in the showroom for extended periods
- Occasionally lift and move flooring samples (up to 40 lbs.)
