The Urban Investment Group (“UIG”) within AMD is an impact investing and lending business that deploys capital across the United States to address critical social and civic challenges and catalyze economic opportunity for all. Since its inception in 2001, UIG has committed over $12 billion in loan and investment capital to revitalize and build communities, including through affordable housing, small business lending and quality educational and healthcare facilities.
UIG seeks an Associate to act as UIG’s ESG Business Head driving, measuring and communicating UIG’s social impact.
Responsibilities include:
- Framing and driving the collection and reporting of UIG's social impact data
- Leading communications and marketing strategy, including press releases, social media, and an annual impact report
- Creating presentations, case studies and other collateral for internal and external meetings
- Identifying and disseminating new research and policy developments that impact UIG’s work
- Planning and executing UIG’s impact and sustainability conferences, convening’s and thought leadership opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; relevant work experience a plus
- Impact, ESG, community development and/or philanthropic experience
- Familiarity with impact framework, data analytics and database management
- Interest in working collaboratively with others in the industry focused on setting impact standards, and navigating any resulting complexities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present strategies and business decisions clearly and concisely, manage internal and external relationships
- Passion for helping solve entrenched challenges facing underserved people and places
- Desire to create positive change through double-bottom-line investments in real estate / the built environment
