Building Maintenance Engineer

Goldman Properties Philadelphia is looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer!

Your primary responsibilities as a Building Maintenance Engineer include inspecting, operating, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment in our commercial/rental spaces, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing, etc.

Building Maintenance Compensation:

$17 - $19 / hour, based on experience

Building Maintenance Essential Functions:

• Complete assigned work orders.
• Perform light repairs to buildings' HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including preventative maintenance (changing filters and cleaning).
• Change light bulbs, door locks, and ceiling tiles throughout the buildings when necessary.
• Paint surfaces throughout the buildings, including scraping, spackling, sanding, filling cracks and holes, etc.
• Manage inventory of maintenance materials and supplies; ensure shop area remains clean at all times.
• Experience with plumbing and carpentry.
• Willingness to support occasional weekend work as needed.
• Participate in the emergency on-call rotation.
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and to climb ladders throughout the workday.
• Experience using basic hand tools.
• Snow and ice removal duties are required.
• Team player attitude.

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• 2 - 5 years’ experience in commercial or institutional maintenance environment preferred.
• Plumbing, or electrical skills, light carpentry, knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
