Director of Content Production

Position OverviewThe Social Media & Content Creator is a dynamic, in-house role responsible for conceptualizing, directing, producing, and editing compelling short-form video content, digital commercials, and branded social media campaigns. This individual will serve as the creative engine behind Goldleaf's online presence, managing content from initial concept through final delivery — all while operating strictly within Maryland's cannabis advertising and marketing regulations.
• Concept, plan, direct, shoot, and edit original short-form video content and digital commercials from pre-production through final delivery.
• Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all content formats.
• Manage all aspects of in-house production including scripting, storyboarding, lighting, camera operation, and post-production editing.
• Create platform-optimized content tailored to the unique specifications and audience behavior of each social media channel.
• Maintain a content calendar and consistently meet publishing deadlines with high-quality deliverables.
Social Media ManagementManage and grow Goldleaf's presence across all major platforms, including:
• Instagram — Reels, Stories, static posts, and carousels
• TikTok — Short-form video, trends, and organic growth (subject to platform policies)
• Facebook — Brand content, community engagement, and event promotion
• YouTube — Long-form content, product education, and brand storytelling
• X (Twitter) — Brand voice, real-time engagement, and announcements
• LinkedIn — Corporate communications, company culture, and B2B presence
• Snapchat — Behind-the-scenes, stories, and brand awareness
• Pinterest — Lifestyle and educational content boards
• Threads — Community engagement and conversational brand building
Strategy & Collaboration• Collaborate closely with leadership, floor managers, budtenders, and other team members across all levels to capture authentic, engaging brand content.
• Contribute to the overall marketing strategy including campaign planning, seasonal content, and promotional initiatives.
• Monitor analytics and performance metrics across platforms to optimize content strategy and report findings to leadership.
• Stay current with social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and industry best practices.
• Ensure all published content maintains full compliance with Maryland cannabis advertising regulations.
• Demonstrated experience directing, producing, and editing short-form video content and/or digital commercials.
• Technical proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve) and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro).
• Strong command of lighting, camera operation, and audio for in-house production environments.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong creative eye for composition, pacing, and storytelling.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
• Punctual, reliable, and highly self-motivated with a go-getter attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ability and willingness to work in-house full-time at our Annapolis, MD location.
• Must be 21 years of age or older (required by Maryland Cannabis Administration).
• Must pass a background check in compliance with Maryland cannabis licensing requirements.
Preferred• Bachelor's degree or higher in Film, Media Production, Communications, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field (strongly recommended).
• Background or coursework in marketing, digital advertising, or brand strategy.
• Prior experience in cannabis, lifestyle, retail, or regulated industry content creation.
• Knowledge of Maryland cannabis advertising regulations and MCA compliance standards.
• Experience with social media scheduling and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social, Later, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
• Photography skills are a plus.
• This is a full-time, in-house position based at Goldleaf's Annapolis, Maryland location.
