Director, Strategic Sourcing

About The Position

Golden State is looking for a Director to grow and develop the organization’s sourcing strategy. This is a crucial leadership role that will ensure that the organization's purchasing activities align with its business objectives, optimizing value, quality, and cost across all categories. We are looking for a self-starter with incredible attention to detail, financial acumen, aptitude for technology, and a desire to work within a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Vice President, Finance.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the entire strategic sourcing lifecycle, including market analysis, needs assessment, and RFP/RFQ execution
• Lead complex contract negotiations to secure the most favorable terms, conditions, quality, and pricing for high value contracts
• Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive strategic sourcing strategy aligned with the company's long-term business goals, focusing on maximizing value and minimizing risk
• Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, Legal, etc.) to integrate sourcing strategies, including vendor selection and contract/pricing negotiations
• Drive the adoption of procurement technology and continuously improve sourcing processes for efficiency and effectiveness
• Evaluate and analyze organizational spend data across all categories to identify opportunities for consolidation, cost reduction, and process efficiency
• Design, implement, and maintain robust sourcing processes and policies (e.g., vendor selection, risk management, contracting)
• Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and report on sourcing effectiveness and supplier performance
• Lead, mentor, and grow a collaborative, high-performing sourcing team

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration/Finance, or equivalent work experience; an MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) is a plus
• 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally within the sports/entertainment industry; minimum 2 years in a leadership/management role
• Ability to develop, implement, and govern procurement processes and policy from the ground up
• Experience delivering significant cost savings and value improvement through strategic sourcing initiatives
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex strategies and results to senior executive audiences
• Strong team management and development skills
• Ability to build positive relationships at all levels within the organization
  
  

Compensation

• $171,000 - 181,000 Bonus
