Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of inbound and outbound shipments of heavy-duty truck parts. This role ensures the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of orders, maintaining the flow of goods, and supporting warehouse operations. The Coordinator will work closely with warehouse staff, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of landing, packing lists, and invoices for outbound shipments.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Communicate with carriers or other branch locations to arrange transportation and resolve any shipping issues.
- Monitor and track shipments, providing updates as needed to Management.
Receiving:
- Oversee the receipt of inbound shipments, verifying the accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and discrepancies, reporting any issues to the supplier and Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of received items.
- Coordinate with the inventory team to update stock levels and manage storage locations.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Support the Warehouse Manager in managing inventory levels, ensuring the availability of parts to meet customer demand.
- Help with inventory reconciliation and reporting discrepancies.
General Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and protocols.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Provide training and support to new and existing warehouse employees.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to shipping and receiving.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in the heavy-duty truck parts industry.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and shipping software.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to loft, carry, and move heavy items (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to work in various warehouse conditions (hot, cold, noisy)
