Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and student needs.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate students and their families about speech disorders and treatment options.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team providers to support student goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy.
Skills
- Proficiency in speech therapy techniques and interventions.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to speech production.
- Excellent student care skills with a focus on empathy and compassion.
- Ability to conduct thorough student assessments to identify communication challenges.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IEPs and school-based terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Understanding of physiology as it relates to speech and language functions.
- Experience in early intervention strategies for young children is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in school or clinical settings.
- Bilingual-Spanish a PLUS, PLUS!
