What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe (Part-Time) position at Golden State Orthopedics & Spine?
We are looking for a Part-Time Medical Scribe to join our team. This is the perfect opportunity for graduating students to gain practical experience needed to apply to medical, physician assistant, nursing, or physical therapy schools. No prior experience needed. We will train.
Job Duties Include:
- Transcribing all patient encounters into EHR system for assigned physician, PA, or NP
- In-taking patient and posting all required fields into EHR system
- Capturing and recording all billable events during patient encounters
- Sending prescriptions and refills to pharmacies as needed
- Communicating referral requests
- Prepping exam and treatment rooms
- Retrieving medical records
- Placing orders as directed by the provider
- Working closely and communicating well with all staff to ensure all department goals are met while optimizing patient workflow
- Additional duties as assigned

Education:
- High school diploma or GED certificate (Preferred)
Experience:
- Medical Scribe Experience: 2 years (Required)
- Typing: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical Terminology: 1 year (Preferred)
- EHR/EMR systems, NextGen (Preferred)
Pay Range:
- Starting at $21.00 per Hour
- Higher compensation may be available for someone with advanced skills and/or experience
