Position Summary:
We are “Golden State Design & Engineering” a small developing full service residential Design & Engineering firm looking to on-board a highly motivated, experienced to become a part of our team and ultimately fill a leading role in managing critical day to day operations as we continue to develop our growing firm.

Since Mid-2020, our team has developed into a reliable design and engineering resource for the local homeowners, developers, and contractors in the Sacramento region and beyond. Completing a total of (150 ) various residential new construction and alteration project. With our experienced and fine-tuned dynamic teamwork, we look to further develop our team, our reach into the industry, our relationships, and to continue providing our clients with industry leading design & engineering services within the residential sector. Responsibilities:
· Assist in business development projects to improve/innovate new fluid systems and procedures for a more accelerated and enjoyable client service experience.
· Prepare, compile, and submit permit applications; manage revisions, resubmittals, and final conditions; maintain communication with building, planning, and fire departments.
· Collect required documents, guide clients through forms and signatures, provide permit status updates, and schedule related meetings.
· Track permit timelines, update project cards, organize files, manage plan revisions, and maintain accurate digital/physical records.
· Work with utility companies, health/fire departments, surveyors, and 3rd-party vendors to obtain required documents and meet permit deadlines.
· Print, prepare, and assemble plan sets; organize stamped plans and distribute approved documents to clients and contractors.
· Calculate and submit permit fees on behalf of clients; track receipts, confirmations, and agency fee schedules.
· Conduct zoning, setback, ADU eligibility, and basic parcel research to support project feasibility assessments.
· Assist with scheduling, meeting notes, supplies, calendar updates, greeting clients, and other administrative duties as needed.
· Help refine internal permitting procedures and assist in training future permitting/admin staff.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience: (Age 18 w/ access to automotive transportation)
- General College Degree
- Min. 2-4 years of previous customer service experience (preferred construction, design or engineering experience)
- Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Etc.)
- Adobe Acrobat
- Trello, QuickBooks, Google Products
- Effective soft skills (written/verbal)
- Teamwork and team building abilities
- Strong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills
- Analytical/Strategic thinking abilities
- High attention to detail
- Ability to Pioneer and innovate in a developing business environment
Pay:
- Hourly: (: $18/hr.) – ( $35)
Schedule:
- Full Time Position: 8hr Shifts /40hr’s a week (part-time position may be considered)
- Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:30pm) PT
- (2) 10-15min breaks included
- 30min lunch break
