At Golden State Cider (Sonoma Craft), we’re a tight-knit crew that takes pride in crafting exceptional beverages and building a workplace where people truly enjoy what they do. Our production floor is home to about 25 dedicated team members across Cellar, Warehouse, Maintenance and Packaging — and together, we make some serious magic happen.
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Tech I to lead with purpose, keep the gears turning (literally and figuratively), and drive excellence across equipment, facilities, safety, and technical training. This role is key to keeping our operation running smoothly, efficiently, and safely every day.
Job Responsibilities
- Regularly complete Preventative Maintenance tasks per machine guidelines
- Identify cause of failures and inefficiencies by following system manuals and schematics and then troubleshooting, proposing, and implementing solutions
- Manage spare parts inventory and restock as necessary
- Add new equipment, assets, and PM tasks to production database as necessary
- Maintain a safe working environment with knowledge of hazardous energy control practices (logout/tagout)
- Complete basic electrical work and troubleshooting on electric motors, control cabinets, contactors, sensors, switches, and general electrical devices
- Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Schedule maintenance service on all vehicles and forklifts
- Communicate and work with outside contractors or vendors as needed
- Assist in the design and execution of special projects
- Keep work areas organized and clean
- Assist Production Staff as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field, e.g., Beverage/Food, Metal Fabrication, Vehicle Maintenance, Construction, etc.
- Ability to adhere to safety standards set by Sonoma Craft and OSHA
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally as well as in writing (email)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to fit schedule
- Forklift experience
- Welding, milling, drilling, metal work, pipe fitting, heavy equipment operation – Preferred
Work Environment & Physical requirements
Office Hours/Location:
- This position is based in Healdsburg, CA. Expected in-offices days will rotate quarterly from Monday through Friday to Tuesday through Saturday.
- Expected in-office days and hours are expected to fluctuate during high season, and based on operational needs.
- Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.
- This role is classified as non-exempt under California wage and hour laws. This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable state and federal law for hours worked beyond standard work hours, as approved by management.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a beverage production facility with exposure to wet floors, elevated noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and high-voltage equipment.
- Regular exposure to hazardous materials, cleaning agents, and alcohol-based products.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment that complies with all sanitation requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, feel, taste, and smell.
- Frequently required to lift and move up to seventy-five pounds.
- Must frequently reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to move/lift 25-50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights of up to twenty feet using a platform ladder.
- Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.

Compensation range is $29.00 - $38.00 Per Hour
The posted pay range reflects the long-term earning potential for this role. Initial offers are determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors—including experience, education, training, professional certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and performance expectations—and are not made at the top of the range.
