Role Description The Lead Solar Installer is a full-time, on-site role based in Denver, CO, responsible for overseeing and performing the installation of residential and commercial solar electric systems. This role includes leading installation crew, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications and code requirements. Day-to-day tasks involve mounting solar panels, installing racking and wiring, integrating inverters and batteries, and performing system testing and commissioning. The Lead Solar Installer will also train team members, coordinate with project managers and customers on-site, and document project progress and completion. This position requires consistent adherence to safety protocols, accurate use of tools and equipment, and a focus on quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of solar power and solar systems, including PV components, system design basics, and installation best practices.
- Familiarity with the solar industry, including current technologies, safety standards, and relevant electrical and building codes.
- Proficient use of power tools and hand tools commonly used in construction and solar installation.
- Previous experience leading installation crews or construction teams, with the ability to plan tasks and mentor less experienced installers.
- Ability to work safely at heights, on roofs, and in varying weather conditions, following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and customers on-site.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in the Denver, CO area.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or electrical training, NABCEP certification, or related solar credentials are a plus.
