Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present food items with precision, utilizing knife skills and slicing techniques for efficiency and presentation.
• Follow food safety management protocols to maintain hygiene standards during food handling, storage, and preparation.
• Support dietary department needs by assisting with meal assembly, portion control, and special dietary requests.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment regularly.
• Ensure safety standards are upheld during all stages of food production and service.
• Serve meals efficiently while providing friendly customer service to residents or clients.

Experience

• Previous dietary aide or dietary department experience preferred, with familiarity in meal preparation and food service operations.
• Hands-on experience in a restaurant or food industry setting that demonstrates strong culinary skills.
• Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments and safe food handling practices.
• Experience with catering or large-scale meal preparation is a plus.
• Proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and general kitchen experience required.
• Background in food safety management systems and adherence to safety protocols essential.
• Prior experience working in a kitchen environment with a focus on food industry best practices is highly valued.
