The Role As a Budtender at Golden Rookie, you are the face of our dispensary. You will guide customers through our menu, offer personalized recommendations, and ensure every interaction is positive and compliant with Colorado state laws. We aren't just looking for someone to sell products; we are looking for someone to build relationships and help our customers find exactly what they need.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Experience: Greet every customer with a warm welcome. Listen to their needs and preferences to recommend appropriate strains, edibles, concentrates, and topicals.
- Education: Explain the effects, potency, and consumption methods of various products clearly to both new and experienced users.
- Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) regulations. This includes verifying IDs (21 ), staying within transaction limits, and maintaining proper inventory records.
- Operations: Accurately handle cash and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with management and other budtenders to keep the store running smoothly, including restocking inventory and labeling products.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid Colorado MED (Marijuana Enforcement Division) Employee Badge. (We cannot hire without this).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Reliable transportation to our Grand Junction location.
- Prior retail, hospitality, or customer service experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of cannabis products and terpenes is a plus, but a willingness to learn is even better.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs (for inventory stocking).
