Library Clerk - Part Time

Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) at Leisure World, Seal Beach is actively recruiting for an experienced part-time Library Clerk to perform a wide variety of technical and clerical library work in support of library activities, typically specializing in an area such as circulation, technical services and customer assistance and various general clerical activities as required.

Your Work Schedule, Compensation &Benefits:
• Position Start Date: November 10, 2025
• Part-time, non-exempt (hourly).
• Hours: 6-hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and every other Saturday.
• This position is 100% on-site.
• Hourly Pay Range is $18.50 per hour up to $25.11 per hour.
The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
• Benefit eligibility after your first 30 days of employment to include: 401(k) and Sick Time at date of hire.

In this position your primary responsibilities include:
• Checking out library materials to customers; checking in and preparing materials for return to the circulating collection; registering new customers; collecting fines for overdue books and fees for lost or damaged books and data entry.
• Responding to customers in person or on the telephone regarding general information, library materials or services, referring to appropriate library staff when necessary.
• Maintaining hold shelf and search the shelves for lost and missing materials. Providing general clerical support including preparation and maintenance of lists, reports, and other documents.
• Participating in the processing and maintenance of the collection including periodicals.
• Operating and troubleshooting office equipment.
• Opening and closing the library as assigned.
• Providing basic reference and directional information to patrons.
• Instructing patrons in the use of library equipment.

As a qualified candidate you should have:
• Six months of recent library experience or completion of three units of coursework in library science within the last ten (10) years or equivalent.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Experience maintaining and organizing detailed records.
• Ability to operate computer terminals, query database for information.
• Ability to work Saturday hours.

•Korean language proficiency is highly desirable
