Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

You take pride in creating training programs, developing lesson plans, and delivering instruction using various teaching methods. As a forward-thinking individual, you are always looking for ways to enhance safety initiatives.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Training Coordinator you report to the EHS Manager.
What You Do
- Plan and meet weekly training deadlines in alignment with department objectives.
- Support the development and implementation of competency-based training programs.
- Ensure site compliance by equipping employees with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
- Maintain accurate training records in compliance with MSHA regulations.
- Partner with operating departments to conduct task observations and safety inspections.
- Deliver task training in both classroom and field settings.
- Tailor training methods to different learning styles for optimal trainee engagement and retention.
- Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to health, safety, and training excellence.
- Develop and lead new hire and ongoing training programs to meet site and departmental needs.
- Create lesson plans and select instructional methods, such as one-on-one training, group sessions, lectures, and workshops.
- Assist with the standardization and review of departmental procedures and guidelines.
- Continuously audit and improve training materials, courses, and programs.
- Help track task training, observations, and assessments.
- Manage both physical and electronic records to ensure accurate document control.
- Keep training records updated in line with GQMC Learning Management System (LMS) requirements.
- Facilitate or assist with new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site-specific, and task-specific training as needed.
- Contribute to the implementation and oversight of mine-wide or department initiatives.
- Take on other safety-related duties as assigned by the Training Manager.
- Work independently in a departmental training role with minimal supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the mining industry or a similar heavy industry is required.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with peer groups and focus teams is essential.
- Strong ability to drive results and meet time-sensitive deadlines is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Proven leadership and influencing abilities, with a strong commitment to promoting safety through leading by example, are required.
- A solid track record of safe work practice is a must.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), is preferred.
