Life Enrichment Assistant

Position Summary: To assist the Life Enrichment Coordinator in implementation of activities and services for the Communities at Golden Pond.
As a member of this team, you will get to experience state of the art programming and services that enhance and respect the individual and group collectively through offerings that engage all the facets of life; the physical, emotional, spiritual, artistic and intellectual well-being through programming and workshops on campus, through different media and outside the community.
Location : Hopkinton, MA
Schedule: full time and part time positions with 1 weekend a month rotation
Shifts: day or evening shifts available with holiday rotation
Reports to: Life Enrichment Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree preferred
- Must have valid driver's license
- Minimum of 1 year working with the geriatric population and leading groups and activities
- Artistic experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner;
- Must have sound interpersonal skills to provide respectful and effective communication and relational development with outside resources, residents, family and visitors;
- Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries;
- Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized and professional manner
- Ability to initiate, lead and conduct therapeutic groups on topics such as goal setting, motivation, healthy choices, safety, communication, de-escalation techniques, honesty and self esteem
General Responsibilities:
- Cultivates community resources, workshops, individual and group activities that is reflective of needs, motivational levels and abilities;
- Coordinates and hosts all special events, holidays and various programs as directed by Director of Concierge Services and Resident Care team;
- Participate in opportunities for residents to engage in various community program, volunteer opportunities, theater, adult education, religious services etc.;
- Create monthly life enrichment communication of events
- Maintain social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram and other forms of media to showcase meaningful engagement and social benefits of living on campus;
- Provide individual and group experiences and provide oversight and support to
Life Enrichment Team Members
- Participates and shares responsibility for the development and maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment;
- Develops and maintains a solid volunteer base through establishing and maintaining relationships within the community and with Golden Pond resident family members;
- Work with Executive Director and Director of Concierge Services to implement on going staff recognition
- Complies with required health, safety and HIPAA requirements
- Respects diverse approaches and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward employees, residents and visitors.
- Encourages participation for each resident respecting their individual ability to participate and contribute each day
- Collaborates with outside organization and individuals to enhance programming
- Other duties as assigned.
